How much will Prince Alwaleed bin Talals acquisition of Al Hilal cost

Khaberni - Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Abdulaziz is close to acquiring ownership of the Saudi club AlHilal, according to multiple Saudi media outlets.

According to Saudi Arabia’s "Middle East" newspaper, the announcement of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company, acquiring AlHilal is entering its final details.

The newspaper added that the announcement of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal’s acquisition of AlHilal has reached the final stage, and the completion of this historic and unparalleled deal in the history of Saudi sports is expected before the end of the current December.

The newspaper indicated, according to reliable sources, that the deal will cost Prince Alwaleed bin Talal about two billion dollars (7.5 billion Saudi Riyals), with strict confidentiality maintained on the negotiated figures, with most of it being paid to the Saudi Public Investment Fund, and another amount to the Ministry of Sports.

The newspaper clarified that negotiations have been ongoing for about a year, with only minor details left separating the prince from owning 100% of the club.

It revealed that the gold member supporter will buy 75% of the sovereign fund's share and the remaining 25% from the Ministry of Sports, with AlHilal entering 2026 with a new investment owner for the first time in history.

It pointed out that Al Ittihad club - owned by the Public Investment Fund - is not close to disengaging with the Public Investment Fund, due to negotiations with many investors, including Abdullah Saleh Kamel, his brother Mohi and others, and it may take more than the next 3 months, the same case applies to Al Nassr and Al Ahli clubs.

And the sources emphasized that there are no updates regarding the privatization of Al Shabab and Al Ettifaq clubs, as the offers have not yet reached an advanced stage and still need a long time which might extend to the end of next year.
