European Aviation Safety Agency extends recommendation to avoid Gulf airspace

Khaberni - An updated bulletin on conflict areas has shown that the European Aviation Safety Agency extended on Friday the term of its recommendation for airlines to avoid the airspace of Iran, Israel, and several Gulf states until April 10 due to escalating military activities.

The recommendation was previously in effect until March 27.

The war in Iran erupted on February 28, following extensive airstrikes by the United States and Israel targeting vital and military facilities and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, resulting in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with a number of senior officials and leaders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders of the Revolutionary Guard.

In response, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel and countries in the region, along with closing the Strait of Hormuz, which caused a rise in energy prices.

The war extended to Lebanon on March 2, after Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel following the assassination of Ali Khamenei, to which Israel responded with widespread airstrikes and ground incursion into southern Lebanon.
