Khaberni - Khaberni - signed more than 200 former hostages, relatives of former hostages, and family members of deceased hostages, a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, demanding his approval for the formation of a governmental investigation committee into the failures surrounding the October 7 attack (October) 2023..
The letter was published by "October Council," a movement consisting of hostage families calling for a government investigation, on the 800th day following the events of October 7 (October)..
The letter stated: "We call on the Israeli government to stop evading, delaying, and covering up, and to immediately form a governmental investigation committee".
The letter added: "We demand truth, justice, and accountability. If you have no intention to take responsibility and to form this committee, as demanded by the majority of the people, then leave your positions, and let the people decide".
The signatories in the letter demand a transparent investigation that examines all events of October 7 (October), including "the collapse of defense and intelligence systems, failure to respond to distress calls, abandoning the border communities near Gaza for hours, leaving civilians and soldiers to face the horrors of war".
They also demand that the investigation includes what happened since October 7, including the way decisions were made during negotiations for the return of hostages, reasons for repeated delays, coordinations between the political and military forces, statements and actions of all government officials and their impact on the lives of the hostages, and on their mental and physical health, and the fate of those who were captured alive and killed in captivity, and the long wait for the return of the bodies of deceased hostages to their families".
The letter stressed that the investigation committee is not a political tool, should not include individuals who are themselves the subject of investigation, must be transparent and professional, should have full powers to conduct investigations, interrogate witnesses, examine documents, and reach clear conclusions, including the authority to enforce them.
