Khaberni - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russian forces launched attacks with 30 missiles and 450 drones on his country, confirming that the attack deprived thousands of electricity.
10 civilian facilities were damaged
Zelensky stated in a post on "X" today (Saturday): The recent Russian strikes have damaged more than 10 civilian facilities. He added that it is important for everyone to see what Russia is doing now.. This is in no way an endeavor to end the war, confirming that Moscow still aims to destroy our country and inflict the greatest amount of pain on our people.
Zelensky wrote: "The most significant damage from the attack was to our energy system in the south and the Odessa region," adding that thousands of families in 7 regions across Ukraine are now without electricity.
Eye witnesses reported that the coastal city of Odessa in southern Ukraine and the surrounding area suffered widespread power outages, following a major Russian attack overnight on the country's electricity network.
The Ukrainian power grid operating company reported that a large number of households in the Odessa and Mykolaiv southern regions are without electricity, and that the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Kherson region on the frontline is completely without electricity.
Widespread raid
In response, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that in response to terror attacks in Ukraine, the armed forces carried out an airstrike using "Kinzhal" missiles on Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities and energy facilities that support its operations.
It confirmed that the large-scale air raid used precision land and sea weapons, hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, and long-range drones, on Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities and energy facilities that support its operations. The objectives of the raid were achieved, as all designated targets were hit.
The ministry also mentioned that the air defense systems had shot down, in the last 24 hours, 169 Ukrainian drones and intercepted two American-made "HIMARS" missiles.
Drone attack
Today, two people were killed in an attack with a Ukrainian drone targeting the city of Saratov in central Russia, according to local authorities.
Kyiv has been launching drone strikes on Russia since Russia invaded Ukraine about four years ago, taking over large areas of the country and bombarding it with drones and missiles. The governor of Saratov region, Roman Busargin, stated that the drones hit a residential building in the city.
Kyiv had previously bombarded the area with drones, but Russian defenses shoot down a large percentage of them, and casualties are rarely reported.
