Trump Significant Progress in Negotiations to End the RussianUkrainian War

Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump, on Saturday, reported significant progress concerning the negotiations to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The American president said: "We've accomplished a lot.. 8 wars.. Nobody has ever stopped 8 wars.. There is only one war left.. and I thought it would be the easiest.. it's a war in a country you are somewhat familiar with.. Russia and Ukraine.. but we are making tangible progress."

Trump clarified that the free economic zone proposal in Donbas is viable, but he refused to disclose its details.

About Donbas, Trump added: "I don't want to get into that now.. It’s a very complex situation.. but we will succeed.. and many want it to succeed.. all I want is to stop the killing of 25,000 people every month."

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Trump's negotiating team was vague in determining who would control security under Trump's proposal for the region.

This comes at a time when American officials told the "Wall Street Journal" that Steve Witkoff, Trump’s envoy, will meet this week in Berlin with the Ukrainian president and European leaders, in order to expedite ending the war and narrowing differences around the American proposed peace plan in Ukraine.

The American officials also clarified that Witkoff will meet tomorrow and the day after, with officials from France, Britain, and Germany.

However, Polish media reported from a source in the Élysée Palace that the meeting scheduled for today in Paris concerning Ukraine had been canceled.

Ukrainian sources previously reported to the site "Axios" that Paris would host a meeting today to discuss the peace plan in Ukraine, which would have included American officials and representatives from Ukraine, France, Germany, and Britain.
