Khaberni - Muayyad Sha'ban, head of the Anti-Wall and Settlement Authority, stated on Friday that the so-called "Israeli Occupation Cabinet's" approval of the settlement and establishment of 19 new settlements across the West Bank is another step in the race to annihilate Palestinian geography for the benefit of the settlement project.
Sha'ban considered this decision a serious escalation and reveals the true intentions of the occupation government in consolidating the annexation regime, apartheid, and the complete Judaization of Palestinian land.
Sha'ban stated in a report issued by the Authority today, Friday: "This step is part of a systematic policy led by the settlers' government under Netanyahu and Smotrich, aimed at legalizing settlement outposts and transforming them into official settlements, which entrenches Israeli permanent control over Palestinian territories."
He added that the decision constitutes a blatant challenge to international law and Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, and rings an alarm bell about the future of the West Bank, which is undergoing a systematic settlement process aiming at uprooting the Palestinian presence and transforming cities and villages into isolated and besieged enclaves.
Sha'ban clarified that this decision came within a clear escalating context of the Israeli settlement project, proceeding according to a comprehensive plan aimed at placing as many settlements and settlement blocs as possible in Palestinian geography to achieve geographical separation and subjugate Palestinian life to the logic of settler insanity, affirming that this announcement is added to a series of significant announcements by the occupation government concerning progressing a host of decisions on settlements. On March 23, 2025, the occupation announced the separation of 13 settlement neighborhoods from major settlements, considering them independent settlements in a step aimed at granting them separate administrative and security powers and expanding settlers' control deep into Palestinian land.
This was followed on May 29, 2025, by another decision to transform 22 settlement outposts into standalone settlements, which at the time constituted the most dangerous "legalization" operation of illegal settlement sites in decades.
He indicated that with the cabinet's approval of the settlement and establishment of 19 new settlements, it is clear that these decisions are not isolated events, but rather consecutive stations in a comprehensive settlement project targeting the imposition of a new reality on Palestinian land that precedes any potential political solution, confirming that the current occupation government is operating according to a strategic vision aimed at ending the viability of a geographically contiguous Palestinian state through the expansion of settlements and connecting them with settlement and security road networks serving only the settlers.
He affirmed that the Anti-Wall and Settlement Authority, in cooperation with all official and popular entities, will continue the legal, diplomatic, and field work to expose the crimes of Israeli settlement before the international community, calling for urgent action from the United Nations and the High Contracting Parties of the Geneva Conventions to stop this dangerous expansion.
Sha'ban emphasized that the Palestinian people are committed to their land and their historical right to it, and they will not be intimidated by settlement projects, regardless of how extreme and aggressive the occupation's measures are.
