Prime Minister Jafar Hassan stated, “The government will finalize the 2026 budget by mid-December, in order for us to embark on the implementation of the capital projects listed therein without any delays at the beginning of the next year; there is no room for slowness or hesitation before the government.
Hassan added during the closing session of the Parliament’s discussion on the budget: "I extend my deep thanks and appreciation to the Speaker of the Parliament, the chairman and members of the Finance Committee, and all the members of the council for their efforts in discussing the draft law of the general budget for the coming year, and for their valued contributions and observations throughout the past days, which reflected national responsibility and genuine concern to enhance the development journey and serve the interests of Jordanians and Jordanian women in all fields.
The Prime Minister also stated that the budget discussions are not only a constitutional duty but also a practical embodiment of genuine cooperation within the constitutional framework between the legislative and executive powers... This cooperation is consistently directed by His Majesty the King, and we all adhere to it to serve our most precious country.
He continued, "We strive to complete the final stages of signing agreements and financial closures for some projects so that the government can issue the tenders for the majority of these projects before the end of next year; to be completed and finalized during the years 2028 – 2030, which are a national strategic priority. These are not mere promises or wishes, but a clear announcement of what the government will implement next year and the following year".
He further stated, "The allocation for capital projects and expenses, estimated at 1.6 billion dinars, will be fully spent to help invigorate broad economic sectors, alongside funding the initiation of major strategic projects, for which extensive efforts were made this year to prepare, and we begin implementing them next year".
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to work side by side with the Parliament in all phases of the budget implementation, and continues its approach based on transparency and cooperation, open to all opinions and suggestions, fully believing that our shared national goals are much greater than any differences in opinion, and that the interest of Jordan and Jordanians always remains our guiding compass, and our joint project which we are held accountable for.
