Food and Drug Administration Urges Not to Use Personal Import of Medicines for Commercial Purposes

Khaberni - Referring to the Food and Drug Authority's detection of three non-compliant beauty centers administering unregistered NAD for intravenous injection, which was found to be sourced from personal import, the Authority clarified that it allows the entry of unregistered drugs for exclusively personal use to specified patients by name, requiring a medical prescription and report, and in quantities determined by the Authority not exceeding the amount the patient needs for three months, under the responsibility of the treating physician and the patient.

Following the aforementioned violations and to ensure that personal importation of medicines is not used for commercial purposes, the Authority has circulated a ban on the entry of NAD for personal intravenous use
and under the penalty of accountability, especially since there is no scientifically proven medical need for it.

The Authority invites citizens to contact it in case of any observations, inquiries, or complaints, through the toll-free complaints line 117114, email [email protected], or via the "WhatsApp" app on the number 0795632000.
