Potential Deaths Shake Americans Confidence in Coronavirus Vaccines

Khaberni - In a surprising step, the US Department of Health announced on Tuesday that the Food and Drug Administration is investigating deaths that may be linked to coronavirus vaccines. The ambiguity surrounds the age groups involved, raising fears and questions about the safety and monitoring of vaccinations across the United States.

Earlier, FDA Commissioner Marty Makary said that the administration is investigating these deaths among young people.

Last month, Vinay Prasad, the chief medical and scientific officer of the administration, informed staff in a memo that COVID-19 vaccines may have contributed to the deaths of at least 10 children due to myocarditis, and announced plans to strengthen monitoring of the vaccines. The memo did not disclose the health status of the children or the vaccine manufacturers involved.

The findings, which were not published in a peer-reviewed medical journal, were based on an initial analysis of a total of 96 deaths between 2021 and 2024.

Moderna reiterated its previous statement that there are no new or undisclosed safety concerns for children or pregnant women regarding its mRNA-based coronavirus vaccine, "Spikevax".

Similarly, Pfizer confirmed the safety and efficacy of another COVID-19 vaccine based on mRNA technology, marketed with its partner BioNTech.

Health Minister Robert Kennedy Jr. radically changed the government's policy on coronavirus vaccines, limiting their availability to those aged 65 and over, as well as those with underlying medical conditions.

Kennedy, like President Donald Trump, has been a vaccine skeptic for a long time.
