Khaberni - Imagine waking up from surgery to find yourself speaking a language you've never learned! This is exactly what happened to an American man, who became the talk of social media after a video documenting the moment he woke up from anesthesia went viral.
His wife recorded the first moments after her husband came out of the operating room, and her shock was evident as she heard him fluently speak Spanish upon waking up from the anesthesia, questioning the secret behind this incident, especially since her husband had never studied or spoken Spanish before.
His wife repeatedly asked him in a puzzled tone, "You're speaking Spanish, where did you learn this language?" Yet, the strangest part was his continuous response in Spanish, insisting that he only knows English, without realizing the language coming out of his mouth.
Doctors recognize Foreign Language Syndrome as a rare phenomenon, but most registered cases involve a change in accent or tone of voice.
This man, however, appeared as a native Spanish speaker, with all the details of pronunciation, rhythm, and confidence in his speech, as if a hidden file in his brain had suddenly been opened without warning.
Anesthesia might lead humans to exceptional states of consciousness, and some patients might retrieve forgotten childhood languages, while others might display changes in their personalities. However, this case seems entirely different, as if an entire language with all its details was installed in his mind overnight.
The video sparked a wave of comments and debates, with one viewer jokingly commenting, "I wish to wake up from anesthesia and master Kung Fu."
Meanwhile, others raised deeper questions about what had happened: "Was it a brain glitch? Or a memory from a past life? Or did anesthesia open a door to a part of the mind we can't usually access?"
