Khaberni - Lawyer Samia Farouk, representing the defense of 6 accused in the major Sara Khaleefa drug case, requested the disqualification of the court panel during the new Cairo session in Egypt.
During the seventh session of the trial of producer Sara Khaleefa and 27 other accused, Lawyer Samia Farouk officially requested the disqualification of the court panel on behalf of her clients: Khaled Fathy, Fathy El-Abiad, and four other accused in the major drug-related case.
A short while ago, all 27 accused, including Sara Khaleefa, arrived at the New Cairo Criminal Court, held at the Fifth Settlement, in preparation for attending their trial session. The case revolves around the formation of a criminal organization for importing raw materials for drugs from abroad, manufacturing them in Egypt, distributing them, and systematically trading in them.
In the previous session, the public prosecutor's representative asserted that the accused had committed crimes exceeding the bounds of the law, and their actions surpassed the usual limits of wrongdoing. He clarified that the deeds committed by the criminal gang necessitate stern judicial action, emphasizing that the voices of the victims' families, including sons, daughters, spouses, and mothers, demand the imposition of the maximum penalties on the accused.
The public prosecutor's office requested the death penalty by hanging for all the accused, considering this punishment commensurate with the severity of the crimes committed and the status of the affected victims.
