Khaberni - Japanese authorities arrested playwright and actor Jeremy O'Harris, known for his famous play "Slave Play", at Naha Airport on Okinawa Island in southern Japan on November 16th, on suspicion of smuggling a hallucinogenic drug known as ecstasy.

Tatsunori Fukuda, a spokesperson for the Okinawa regional customs, reported that 36-year-old Harris was apprehended at Naha Airport on Okinawa Island on November 16th, after finding 0.78 grams of the crystallized drug also known as "MDMA" in a handbag in his possession.

Fukuda explained that Harris had left London via Heathrow Airport two days earlier, and stopped briefly at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport before arriving in Naha to visit the natural sights.

Fukuda noted that the arrest was immediate, as the Tomishiro police detained Harris and filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office in Naha County on Thursday for extensive investigations and possible charges.

The official confirmed that no additional drugs were found in his luggage, and it is believed that the seized amount was for personal use, while investigations are still ongoing, and the police refused to disclose any additional details.

It is noted that drug smuggling in Japan is punishable by several years of imprisonment, which puts Harris in a severe legal confrontation if convicted.
