Khaberni - The Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce, Senator Khalil Hajj Tawfiq, expressed the commercial and service sectors' pride in Jordan winning four awards for Arab Government Excellence at its fourth session, which was launched at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, affirming that this achievement reflects the qualitative development that the state's institutions are witnessing in the context of modernization pathways led by His Majesty King Abdullah II.
Hajj Tawfiq stated in a statement today, Saturday, that the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply winning the award for the best Arab ministry, the victory of the Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality Committee, Dr. Yousef Al-Shawarbeh winning the award for the best Arab municipal manager, the Jordan Customs Department winning the award for the best Arab institution, and the Jordan River Foundation winning the award for the best initiative for youth empowerment, all represent the culmination of national efforts accumulated in developing institutional performance, improving the quality of services, and promoting a culture of excellence and creativity.
He added that these awards serve as an additional incentive for public and private institutions to continue working according to the highest standards, noting that government performance has witnessed a qualitative leap in recent years in simplifying procedures, digital transformation, and improving operational efficiency, which positively reflects on the business environment, investors, and the national economy.
Hajj Tawfiq affirmed that the private sector, represented by the chambers of commerce and employers' unions, values these achievements that support the partnership with the public sector and enhance confidence in Jordan's ability to compete regionally, pointing out that the spirit of excellence reflected by these awards contributes to enhancing the investment environment and developing services related to trade and industry, and opens broader prospects for economic cooperation regionally and internationally.
He pointed out that the advanced institutional work achieved by the winning entities sets a model to be emulated, and emphasizes the importance of continuing to implement the vision of economic modernization and administrative modernization, developing the governmental work system, empowering human resources, and enhancing partnerships with the private sector.
He noted that the winning institutions have provided a practical model for what institutional work based on efficiency and commitment can achieve, indicating that these results reflect the seriousness of Jordan in implementing modernization visions, enhancing competitiveness, and improving the quality of public services.
He added that this superiority imposes on everyone—government and private sector alike—the responsibility to continue building on what has been achieved and to accelerate the pace of development and innovation, thereby consolidating Jordan's position as a country with strong institutions capable of achievement.
He affirmed that these awards represent a clear message that Jordan is confidently moving towards a modern and advanced model in management and performance, thanks to the vision of His Majesty the King and the commitment of state institutions to serious and responsible work.
