Khaberni - Exclusive
Jordan has recently been facing seasonal viral activity (influenza and a corona variant) and Jordanians have complained about suffering from a strong viral wave that exhausts the airways and causes spikes in temperature and notable physical fatigue.
According to Khaberni surveillance, during the onset of winter, an increase in the number of hospital visits, both public and private, has been observed due to the virus, which has an incubation period of about two weeks.
The head of the National Center for Epidemic Control, Dr. Adel Belbeisi, explained in previous statements to Khaberni that the coronavirus is still present in Jordan, but it appears at very low rates.
Belbeisi clarified in a statement to "Khaberni", based on the results of tests and scientific studies, that the positive infection rate of coronavirus in 2025 was about 2.7% from among 4,000 samples analyzed so far, while last year it was recorded at 3.25%, compared to what it was during the peak of the pandemic when it reached 35%.
Regarding the diseases currently prevalent in the Kingdom, Belbeisi noted that the picture will become clearer over the coming weeks with the continuing drop in temperatures and the broader onset of the winter season.
