Khaberni - The Executive Director of Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, Ayman Samawi, discussed with Lebanese Minister of Culture Ghassan Salame and Minister of Tourism Laura Lahoud, ways to develop relations between the two countries and the potential for their enhancement.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Lebanese Ministries of Culture and Tourism in Beirut, explored the possibility of participating in the festival’s 40th edition and twinning with Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts and the Beiteddine Festival and Baalbek Festival, in order to benefit from the cultural, artistic, and musical programs.
Salame stated that Lebanon "abounds with cultural landmarks, which are the spirit of nations and their identity reflecting their history and aspirations," praising the efforts made in this long-standing festival to bring peoples and civilizations closer together, enhance mutual understanding, and build a world that is more tolerant and cooperative.
Lahoud praised the strong and historic relations that connect Jordan and Lebanon across various fields and levels including political, economic, and tourism, noting the efforts made by the festival's administration, and the ideas presented during the meeting, which serve as a positive driver that benefits all sectors of tourism, culture, and arts in both countries.
The purpose of these meetings between the festival's administration and Arab ambassadors and friendly countries is to activate tourism attractions, especially since festivals have become a fundamental pillar in revitalizing the tourism sector, creating an atmosphere filled with culture and vitality, and learning about the entertaining and heritage experiences of cities, starting from cultural events to artistic and musical festivals.
The festival's administration has consistently focused on diversity in attracting various musical rhythms and styles and openness to all forms of vocal arts, whether related to the present or part of the heritage of peoples.
