Expert advises Jordanian drivers Hiding behind a vehicle does not prevent your violation from being caught by the camera

Khaberni - Expert Mohammad Amin, the Regional Director for the world's largest radar manufacturer, stated that the radar cameras installed by the Amman Municipality rely on a laser device which emits about 2400 laser beams per second to measure vehicle speed accurately, differentiating them from mobile radars that rely on an image supported by a video clip.

He confirmed that there is a limited possibility of errors in recording violations, such as a vehicle being mistakenly ticketed for speeding alongside another fast-moving vehicle. He pointed out that the concerned authorities avoid this by recording a video segment 3 seconds before and 3 seconds after the violation to accurately determine the identity of the violating vehicle.

He explained that some drivers try to avoid detection by driving behind large vehicles; however, the range of the laser reaches about 350 meters, capturing an image of the violating vehicle at the most suitable location.

The expert confirmed in radio statements that the airport road in Jordan needs 9 radars, given the recording of high speeds.

Amin considered that driving behavior in Jordan is sometimes aggressive due to various pressures.

He pointed out that CCTV cameras are capable of detecting about 24 types of violations, starting with using a phone while driving, being distracted, not wearing a seat belt, illegal tinting, smoking with a child under 10 years old, not adhering to the correct lane, tailgating, using non-functional vehicle lights, and double turning.
