Petra University has been crowned first place at the Jordanian Universities Basketball Championship (3X3), held by the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities in the sports hall at Petra University, with twenty public and private universities participating.
The President of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, stated that the university is proud of the accomplishments of its students and their achievements at the university level, stressing the importance of student participation in extracurricular activities for their role in shaping their personalities.
The Petra University team won the title with an undefeated record, after winning the final match against Amman Al-Ahliyya University with a score of (21/17). The team consisted of students: Yazeed Abushahil, Winal Abushahil, Abdulaziz Al-Abssi, and Abdullah Al-Akash, under the guidance of coach Ibrahim Abu Naab.
At the end of the championship, Abdel Rahim crowned the winning teams, where Petra University came in first place, Amman Al-Ahliyya University in second place, while the University of Jordan and Princess Sumaya University shared the third place.
The final match and the award ceremony were attended by the Dean of Student Affairs at Petra University, Professor Dr. Eyad Al-Mallah, and the Dean of Student Affairs at Amman Al-Ahliyya University, Professor Dr. Mustafa Al-Attiyat.
