Khaberni - The International Football Association "FIFA" has set a date for clubs to release their international players to join their national teams for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.

Morocco will host the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026.

According to a report by "The Athletic" in the UK, FIFA has set December 15 as the date for clubs to release their players to join the national teams before the Africa Cup of Nations.

The preparation time for players for the Africa Cup of Nations will be very short as the tournament will start less than a week after this date.

Earlier, African national teams had requested the release of the players a week before this date, specifically on December 8.

However, before the 2021 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, there was a meeting between stakeholders from the Confederation of African Football "CAF" and their counterparts from UEFA and representatives of European clubs.

At that time, it was agreed that the period during which players must join their national teams before the tournament should not exceed 6 days, which is now being reapplied.

Note that FIFA had made a similar decision before the start of the 2022 World Cup competitions in Qatar, which also took place in the winter between November and December.

It seems that this date was already known to several European clubs, evidenced by the statement by Dutchman Arne Slot, coach of Liverpool, that Egyptian Mohamed Salah would leave his team on December 15 to join the Pharaohs.
