Khaberni - The British government has reached a new agreement with the United States to keep the customs duties on British pharmaceuticals exported to the United States at zero level, with London committing to increase the British National Health Service's budget for new drugs by 25 percent.
The British newspaper The Guardian reported that the agreement announced today, Monday, aims to maintain investments of British pharmaceutical companies within the American market and to create additional jobs there, adding that Washington has pledged to ensure British citizens access to the latest pharmaceutical innovations, and to refrain from targeting British pricing policies in any future investigations during the Trump administration's term.
This development comes six months after a previous agreement that set tariffs on most British exports at no more than 10 percent.
