Khaberni - Starting from the mission of the College of Nursing at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan in preparing nurses with professional competencies and leadership capabilities, the college organized an awareness event titled "Through the Patient's Eyes", attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Rez, and several members of the faculty, administrative staff, and students.
The students began the event by distributing mirrors to the audience to provide them an opportunity to experience the feeling of patients and to see things from a different perspective, followed by a series of videos that included words and tips from faculty members and graduates of the college.
The event aimed to enhance the nursing students’ skills in understanding patients' experiences during treatment stages and to highlight the health and psychological challenges they go through, through interactive activities and educational presentations that encourage students to adopt a humane approach in practicing their profession.
During the event, the Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Rez, emphasized the importance of the humanitarian and professional role of nurses, noting the college's commitment to preparing nursing competencies that possess the necessary scientific and practical skills to practice the profession with high efficiency. He also emphasized the role of these activities in honing the students' personalities, developing their skills, and enhancing their commitment to ethical values and active participation in medical and social activities.
The event included an interactive workshop delivered by several specialists, addressing mechanisms for dealing with patients who face difficulties in hearing, vision, or sensation, with the aim of developing students' skills in effective communication and providing comprehensive care that considers the diverse needs of patients.
