Khaberni - The employment unit at the Amman Chamber of Industry organized an awareness workshop on "Occupational Health and Safety: A Cost or a Successful Investment," at the chamber's building, supported by the Jordan 2030 Employment Project implemented by the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The workshop aims to raise awareness about the importance of implementing occupational health and safety practices in industrial facilities as a successful investment aimed at improving the work environment, enhancing productivity, and avoiding economic effects and losses resulting from occupational accidents and work injuries through discussion and exploration of the following topics:
The workshop, which was opened by the Director-General of the Amman Chamber of Industry Dr. Nael Al-Husami, included several working sessions that discussed a number of topics related to occupational health and safety, including: the costs of implementing occupational health and safety practices, reasons for considering occupational health and safety as an investment, direct and indirect costs of occupational accidents and work injuries, the costs of work accidents in Jordan, calculating the return on investment in occupational health and safety, and also during the workshop, international studies and statistics on occupational health and safety were reviewed.
The workshop featured the Egyptian expert Dr. Mohamed Kamel Ismail, a specialist in the field of occupational health and safety with over twenty years of international experience in managing occupational health and safety systems across a wide range of sectors.
During the workshop, a program of specialized training courses in the field of occupational health and safety to be held by the Amman Chamber of Industry through the employment unit in the year 2026 was announced.
