Morgan, who had been injured in her shoulder during a match against Kairi Sane in June, did not only directly impact the outcome of the match and help Mysterio win the title, but she also quickly mocked Cena after the match ended, in a moment that sparked much controversy among WWE fans.
After John Cena managed to overcome interference attempts by Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, Liv Morgan surprised everyone with her return to WWE, and despite her sudden appearance, Morgan started the scene by slapping Dominik Mysterio, before jumping into Cena's arms, in a moment that confused the audience.
However, that friendly moment did not last long, as Morgan whispered in Cena's ear and then unexpectedly hit him with a low blow, Mysterio immediately took advantage of the situation, executing a quick move to take down the titleholder before Morgan delivered the knockout blow to Cena using the Intercontinental Championship belt.
