Khaberni - The makers of the series "The King", starring Mohamed Adel Imam and scheduled to air next Ramadan, experienced a huge shock after the fire that erupted in "Studio Misr" and consumed the set specially designed for the series.
The fire, which broke out Friday afternoon and completely consumed the set, left the series' creators in a bind, having filmed many scenes at this location, and were supposed to continue shooting there for weeks.
Mohamed Adel Imam commented on the incident via a post on his Facebook page, writing: "It is the will of God, and whatever He wills happens.. and all praise be to God for everything."
He confirmed that a huge fire occurred at the filming location of the series inside "Studio Misr", in an "extensively designed high-level area with massive production by the producer Abdullah Abu Al-Fotouh".
He continued: "God wanted what happened.. and thank God above all that the injuries were minor and all the team is safe", expressing his gratitude to the Egyptian Ministry of Interior and the civil defense forces for their great efforts in extinguishing the fire which flared among timber and highly flammable materials.
The series' star also thanked the producer Mohamed El-Sayed and his team, whom he described as "production monsters", noting that they entered the flames to save equipment, devices, and costumes, and "sacrificed themselves out of love for the work".
At the end of his statement, Mohamed Adel Imam thanked everyone who contacted him to check on him and the team, concluding his remarks with: "What happened was a tough test in a difficult time.. but our trust in God is great and, God willing, we are continuing", asking everyone to wait for the series to air next Ramadan.
