Khaberni - Amman Arab University participated in the activities of the 11th International Scientific Conference organized by the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Yarmouk University in cooperation with the Association of Jordanian Scientists under the title: "Sustainable Development and its Applications from a Sharia Perspective", represented at the conference by Dr. Kifah Al-Souri, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, and Professor Dr. Khaled Abu Sha'ira, faculty member at the College of Educational and Psychological Sciences, along with a group of elite researchers and experts from various universities and academic institutions.
Both Dr. Al-Souri and Dr. Abu Sha'ira presented a specialized research paper at the conference titled: "Food Security and Its Impact on Achieving Sustainable Development in the Context of Conflicts - A Jurisprudential Study", which highlighted food security in the Islamic perspective as one of the most crucial pillars of the 17 sustainable development goals to eliminate poverty, enhance public health, promote social stability, and eradicate hunger amidst contemporary conflicts and disputes. The paper also reviewed a number of contemporary issues related to food security, shedding light on the Sharia-compliant solutions that could contribute to protecting the most vulnerable groups in crisis conditions.
It should be noted that the conference included a number of scientific sessions and workshops that discussed various topics related to Sharia aspects and rulings on sustainable development, in addition to issues of green economy and Islamic financing, and the role of educational institutions in supporting the national developmental agenda, concluding with the announcement of the final recommendations and honoring the conference committees.
