Khaberni - Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, sister of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, has passed away after a distinguished and honorable career in the fields of relief and humanitarian work.
The deceased held the position of the Special Rapporteur of the United Nations on Disability, in addition to the position of Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Arab League for Humanitarian Relief Affairs.
Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa played a prominent and vital role in enhancing Qatar's leading position on the international level. Through her work as the UN Special Regional Rapporteur on Disability, she was able to highlight an important aspect of the vital efforts made by the State of Qatar in the humanitarian fields on the international stage.
