Khaberni - The urban development expert, Diyala Al-Tarawneh, said that cities are built based on economic needs and the diverse needs of individuals and groups.
Al-Tarawneh added that Amra city, with its planning and available facilities, emphasizes the economy that centers around the GDP in Jordan, especially in the fields of education, tourism, and services, particularly electronic and technological services, according to Khaberni channel.
She pointed out that the infrastructure that the city will provide will help these categories in providing services, and lead entrepreneurship projects that rely on concepts of sustainability and combating climate change.
Al-Tarawneh explained that the area where Amra city project is to be established, boasts a topography that allows for water harvesting, and the area extending over the environmental park includes numerous waterways, noting that there is a great opportunity to benefit from water harvesting, in addition to the fact that the urban planning and site organization were based on the types of plants carefully selected by the company that conducted the master plan.
She highlighted that many factors may attract residents to Amra city, especially from the surrounding areas, as the city enjoys a strategic location, being less than 40 km from central Amman, 35 km from Zarqa, and 35 km from Queen Alia International Airport, and its current transportation network is a motivator for easy access.
Al-Tarawneh mentioned that there will be openings for partial subscription for individuals and investment opportunities for citizens, with subscriptions starting from 10,000 to 25,000 Jordanian Dinar, and these projects allow middle-income citizens to invest in or work in this city.
She confirmed that the first four projects in the city will provide thousands of job opportunities, noting that there are 20,000 dunams of land next to the city, dedicated to the General Corporation for Housing and Urban Development, where these lands will include traditional housing cities and residences for all categories that will occupy the city.
The government revealed on Saturday the details of the "Amra City" project, which includes several stages whereby the first phase of the project involves allocating lands for setting up productive investment projects that include an international center for exhibitions and conferences to be completed by 2027.
Prime Minister Jafar Hassan launched the Amra City project, which represents a new model in urban development and long-term population growth management, accommodating sustainability and modernity standards, and opening promising investment and economic opportunities. It serves as a nucleus for a futuristic, exemplary city for the youth and the next generation, with precise organization and planning, extending its development phases over 25 years and across governments.
The government affirmed that Amra City, upon completion, will not be a new capital nor administrative, but its project aims to meet the future population needs in the Kingdom, especially in the cities of Amman and Zarqa, which are expected to reach a population of 11 million in the next 25 years if population growth continues on its path from the past decade.
