5500 Bangladeshi Soldiers in Kuwait

Khaberni - The Bangladeshi Ambassador to Bangladesh, Major General Syed Tariq Hussain, praised "the steady growth of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Kuwait under the leadership of the two countries," noting that Kuwait was the first Gulf country to recognize Bangladesh in 1973. He mentioned that the number of his country's forces in Kuwait exceeds 5500 soldiers who work side by side with the Kuwaiti military forces in many fields, pointing out that the Kuwaiti military uniform is manufactured in Bangladesh, which is one of the largest countries producing this type of clothing.

This was stated in a speech he delivered during a reception on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Bangladesh Armed Forces Day, with the participation of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Administration and Manpower in the Armed Forces, Major General Firas Adel Al-Shaheen, and a large number of ambassadors and military attachés residing in the country, and officers of the Bangladeshi military unit in Kuwait.

He expressed his deep gratitude "for the leadership of the State of Kuwait for hosting nearly 290,000 Bangladeshi citizens, including members of the Bangladeshi military forces stationed in Kuwait since 1991," noting that "defense cooperation remains the cornerstone of this partnership, and we thank the Kuwaiti Armed Forces for their continuous support."
