Khaberni - Syrian Minister of Information, Hamza Mustafa, states that Israel tries to drag the Syrian government into confrontation with multiple provocations, stressing that it is miscalculating when it believes it can establish facts on the ground.
Mustafa was speaking to the Syrian news channel commenting on Israeli aggression on Syrian territory, including the recent bombing in the town of
Beit Jinn in the Damascus Countryside, which occurred last Friday, and resulted in the death of 13 people, after an incursion that Israel justified by the arrest of wanted youths and was met with resistance by Beit Jinn locals, leading to the injury of 6 Israeli soldiers before their withdrawal, leaving behind a military vehicle.
The Syrian Minister of Information emphasized that his country "will not be a launch pad for threatening neighboring states, but will spare no means to confront Israeli aggression and deter it."
He added, "We are not ashamed to say that we are not in a position of strength, especially after the liberation, and we want to focus on uplifting our country."
Meanwhile, Damascus has called on the United Nations Security Council to act urgently to stop the repeated Israeli violations. At the same time, Syrian sources informed Al Jazeera that "Israeli entities fabricate names for groups threatening Israeli security, and then use them as a pretext to intrude into Syrian territories."
On its part, the Israeli Army stated that this attack is part of the operation "Arrow of Bashan" launched following the fall of the ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on December 8 last year, targeting military sites across the country and taking control of strategic locations, including Mount Hermon, in addition to controlling the buffer zone.
