The Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan confirmed that his experience with slum films was suitable for its time, indicating that the social reality in Egypt has changed now.
Mohamed Ramadan said, during his honor at the Excellence and Creativity Forum, that in his early career he presented works that dealt with the reality of slums, but he sees that this type of films no longer reflects the current Egyptian society.
Ramadan explained that the social environment that formed the background of those works no longer exists in the way it used to be, and therefore returning to present them would not be appropriate for the current phase.
Mohamed Ramadan became famous in his early cinema career by portraying characters from marginalized and slum environments, with one of the most notable works being the film "Abdo Mota" in 2012, which achieved widespread popularity.
These works solidified Mohamed Ramadan's image as a populist star presenting patterns of characters outside the law within difficult social contexts. These films contributed to his artistic breakthrough and also brought him criticisms from the audience and critics.
