Khaberni - The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a complaint has been filed with the Security Council against Israel for constructing two walls inside Lebanese territory near the town of Yaroun in southern Lebanon.
The Ministry pointed out that this violation "adds to a series of numerous violations and continuous breaches by Israel, characterized by the construction of two concrete barriers in the shape of a 'T' in southwest and southeast Yaroun within the internationally recognized Lebanese borders. The construction of these walls, which has been documented by UNIFIL forces, results in the encroachment of additional Lebanese lands and constitutes a breach of resolution 1701 (2006) and the ceasefire declaration (2024)."
In a statement, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that it demanded in the complaint to the Security Council urgent action to deter Israel from violating Lebanese sovereignty, and to obligate Israel to remove the walls and to immediately withdraw south of the Blue Line from all areas still occupied within Lebanon, including the five border sites.
The Lebanese government reiterated in the complaint "its readiness to enter into negotiations with Israel to remove the occupation and stop the aggressions, reaffirmed its commitment to fully implement its obligations regarding the implementation of Security Council resolution 1701 without selective or partial execution, and to the ceasefire declaration, thereby restoring the Lebanese state's decision on peace and war, monopolizing arms in its own hands and extending its sovereignty over all its territories through its own forces."
