Khaberni - In the name of Allah, the opener of discourse and the beginner... and praise be to Allah for His story and the end, and after, I have listened with all my senses to the events of the televised national testimony that was crafted by its corners and chapters and meanings with all honesty and fidelity by the former member of the Oman State Council and Deputy Chairman of the Arab Parliament, the writer and thinker and media personality Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al-Mashani from the brotherly Sultanate of Oman.
The testimony was crowned with a beloved title: (Wasfi al-Tal, the Man of the Nation).. and its substantial pearls aired on (Al-Nibras) Omani channel, perfuming the Arab airs from Salalah to Tangier and from Tangier to Salalah, reproducing memories of national and national splendor through the stagnant national atmosphere from water to water!!
Justice firstly compels me to extend deep thanks to my brother in Arabism, Dr. Al-Mashani, and to openly declare: "You have excelled... and your speech is right, O son of the most noble!!"
Yes.. You excelled in your truthful national testimony, which had the effect and magic of its statement and implications, and more!! And secondly, you excelled in choosing a title befitting a lofty national and national stature!.. The stature of the noble knight (Wasfi).. And you were successful in narrating the unique features and commendable attributes of Wasfi the man of the nation! And you excelled any creation in the comparison you made between the great national and national symbol, the martyr Wasfi al-Tal, and the great historical Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi.. and you also excelled through your sincere call to all people and senior officials alike about the necessity to re-read the thought and approach and management (Wasfi), which was a great title for a radiant stage in our contemporary history... and the necessity to emulate his approach.. and his chivalry.. and his honesty.. and the cleanliness of his hands.. and the purity of his conscience.. and his fighting of corruption and spoiling and the corrupt without flinching his courage and his dedication to his homeland and his nation and his leadership and his sanctification of the Palestinian cause!!
Your true words and the radiance of your statement coupled with our love, both you and me, for the great symbol Wasfi al-Tal, prompts me to wish upon you that we both initiate, you and me, a tour through the four corners of Jordan and the neighboring Arab regions to trace the features and types of glory accomplished by Wasfi's compass, which both of us adore, much as it is cherished by the grandchildren and all the honorable, loyal, and honest in our great Arab homeland.
So let us first say Bismillah, and then begin the tour of adorned glory and diligent work, heading toward the north of the kingdom accompanied by history and geography.. and our starting point begins from the heart of Wasfi al-Tal street located in the heart of Amman and specifically a few steps south from the Ministry of Culture where we stand in a spacious square surrounded by doves and pigeons that were attracted, or rather have become its habitat, Wasfi street and the name (Wasfi) when its actual form was absent from them!! These doves that frequent this place every noon, loyal to Wasfi who was overflowing with his tenderness and feeding by his generous hand their ancestors and their ancestors' ancestors since the 1960s from bread and corn and wheat (Kamaliya) during the days of severe snow and rain, a beautiful time that has passed but the memory of that time remains forever in the conscience of humans and the hearts of birds alike!!
And a few steps towards the north, we diverge onto a major academic edifice which is the University of Jordan which Wasfi al-Tal established during his first government.. and the project of its establishment received full support from His Majesty the late King Hussein, the builder of Jordan's renaissance, may God bless his soul.. Thus, the mother university was born and the path of educational and cultural renaissance in our beloved country opened widely by the grace of God!!
In the vicinity, we knock on the door of the University of Jordan Hospital which (Wasfi) established to be a medical and educational arm for the university, and a refuge providing warmth, affection, and healing by the will of God, for patients who flock to it from every nook and corner!
We diverge to the Hussein Camp which had barely reached (Wasfi) the news of the water disruption in it when he immediately contacted the director of civil defense and instructed him to immediately prepare a fleet of water tankers and personally supervise their delivery to the camp, thus affirming that the government serves the people and is not their master.. and the tankers arrived and our people in the camp drank clear water within a few hours!!
And we proceed on our journey towards (Kamaliya) where (Wasfi)'s house and the shrine of a nation of flesh and blood is located.. and we read Al-Fatiha and Surah Ad-Duha on the soul of the martyr, then we reminisce about the story of the three columns that the Ministry of Transport placed to connect the telephone service from the main street to his house when he became Prime Minister,, and the next day after installing the columns, President Wasfi called the Finance Minister and asked him to deduct the price of the columns and the cost of their installation from his salary in three installments and not from the state treasury, and so it was!!
And we hasten our steps toward the north to reach the satellite station that was established during Wasfi's second government, and which became a very important communication point for connecting Jordan with countries in the east and the west of the world!
We continue our tour to look down upon King Talal Dam, which Wasfi built, thereby providing a generous water harvest and a vast lake that suffices for reclamat...
