Khaberni - The Director General of the Department of Statistics, Haider Freihat, said the population census will start at the beginning of next year, adding that 24 million dinars have been allocated for its implementation.
Freihat explained during the budget discussion sessions of the Department of Statistics at a meeting of the Financial Committee of the parliament that the visits would extend from January to May of next year, across two phases; the first one is the enumeration and visits to homes and "blocks".
This will be followed by the second phase for counting and statistics, for which 7 million dinars were allocated.
Freihat stated that it has not yet been determined whether the counting will be conducted by teachers or university students.
