Middle East University achieved a notable accomplishment by registering the highest national performance in the results of the Shanghai global ranking for academic specialties (GRAS), which includes two of the most advanced and impactful fields internationally: artificial intelligence and electrical and electronic engineering.
This ranking is known for being one of the most precise global rankings as it relies entirely on a quantitative methodology based on publication data, citations, and international collaboration, free from any subjective evaluations or opinions.
In the artificial intelligence pathway, Middle East University scored the highest result among local universities in the global research impact index, which reached 47.2 points, alongside recording an outstanding value in the research quality index of 21.8 points. This performance has placed the university in the global category
(400–301), which is prestigious given the competitiveness of this field and its direct connection to the future of technology and the digital economy.
In the electrical and electronic engineering pathway, the university cemented its local leadership by recording the highest result in global research impact, totaling 43.8 points, along with achieving the highest local value in the research quality index at 9.5 points, and excelling in international collaboration which reached
20.0 points, reflecting its ability to build cross-border research networks and produce high-quality knowledge with tangible scientific impact.
