The Mystery of the Black Glasses Why is Fadel Shaker Insistent on Wearing Them

Khaberni - The military court in Beirut postponed the trial of the artist Fadel Shaker until February 3rd, after his legal representative, lawyer Amata Mubarak, requested additional time to review the files related to the lawsuits filed against her client.

Fadel Shaker’s appearance during the session attracted the attention of those present, as he attended wearing his black sunglasses, which he refused to remove despite the request of the court president, sparking widespread questions about his recent insistence on wearing them.

Lebanese media personality Haitham Zaaiter revealed in televised statements that the artist appeared in court wearing jeans and a white shirt, having trimmed his beard, notably losing a lot of weight but still appearing to be in good health, and answered all the questions posed by the court president.

Zaaiter explained that Fadel Shaker's lawyer justified to the judge his refusal to remove the sunglasses due to severe vision impairment caused by diabetic complications, making his vision unclear without them.

The Lebanese media personality also mentioned that Fadel Shaker is facing four judgments issued by the military judiciary, in addition to a new case before the criminal court in Beirut, which will hold its first session on December 15th, 2025.

Zaaiter clarified that the decision to postpone came in response to a request from the defense team, pointing out that the lawyer had wanted to make the session private, but the court president saw no need for this.

He considered that postponing the trial for more than two months does not serve the interests of the artist, who is awaiting the acceleration of judicial procedures in his case.
