Khaberni - The Israeli army allowed today, Wednesday, the entry of heavy equipment into the Gaza Strip in preparation for the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan.
The army is also preparing for debris removal in Rafah city, located in the southern part of the devastated sector, with the aim of creating a new humanitarian area for thousands of Palestinians to enter, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.
This came after Turkish, Qatari, and Egyptian officials met in Cairo to discuss the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, which began in October and has held despite accusations of violations by both sides.
The spokesperson for the Hamas movement, Hazem Qassem, stated today, Wednesday, that the delegation's visit to Cairo confirms Hamas's seriousness about moving to the second phase and starting the preparations for it.
Qassem explained that Hamas showed positivity in its various meetings, adding "the movement is earnestly moving towards reaching the second phase with the necessary arrangements for the situation in the Gaza Strip."
The following phases of the agreement include the establishment of an international authority to govern Gaza and oversee the reconstruction, under a mandate from the United Nations for two renewable years.
An international armed stabilization force is scheduled to take charge of security and ensure the disarmament of Hamas, which is a major demand of Israel.
It is worth noting that the ceasefire plan in Gaza by U.S. President Donald Trump, which came into effect on the tenth of this month (October 2025), stipulated the disarmament of the sector and assigned a Palestinian authority composed of technocrats to manage Gaza under the supervision of an international committee.
