Khaberni - Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Badour confirmed that the Ministry will launch within the coming weeks a campaign to control smoking in institutions and public facilities, through legislation.
Al-Badour, during his response to the inquiries of members of parliament in the meetings of the Financial Committee to discuss the Ministry of Health budget on Wednesday, stated that the Ministry's resort to outsourcing services came as a result of a shortage of staff, especially in precise specializations, pointing out efforts to improve contracts and enhance the control over their implementation.
He added that the stock of medicines available at the Ministry is sufficient for a period ranging between 4 to 6 months, noting that the Ramtha Hospital handled the security incidents that the area witnessed with high professionalism and provided all necessary services to the injured.
Al-Badour clarified that the Ministry will transform the field hospital at Prince Hamzah Hospital into a department for emergencies and dialysis, noting that its opening will take place next month.
Regarding the file on medical tourism, the minister explained that it represents "the primary source of national income," and that the Ministry is working on a new feasible plan that includes the development of services and activation of encouragement tools and control, affirming that it will soon be presented for discussion to the Parliament.
