Khaberni - Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Widian, President of Amman Arab University met with the university students (postgraduate and undergraduate), in the presence of Professor Dr. Hussam Al-Hamad, Vice-President for Planning and Quality Assurance, Professor Dr. Ismail Yameen, Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, and Dr. Mohammed Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, as part of the regular series of meetings held by the university to enhance effective communication with students.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Widian emphasized that students are the primary element reflecting the university's excellence and leadership in the community, and that Amman Arab University has achieved significant progress in global rankings during the past year, advancing (17) ranks in the global ranking in just one year, which he described as a golden water achievement that reflects the efforts made to develop educational and research processes. Dr. Al-Widian also talked about the future vision of Amman Arab University, stating that the university aims to reach the list of the top (50) universities in the Arab world according to the QS global ranking, affirming that this goal is steadily progressing due to institutional work and strategic planning. He reviewed the significant development in infrastructure, academic facilities, and student services, pointing out that the university provides many important facilities such as interest-free student loans, and as a non-profit institution, it prioritizes serving the student and providing an advanced educational environment. He also mentioned the improvements in transport services and buses that meet all student needs.
Dr. Bin Tarif welcomed the students, confirming the deanery's role in supporting them throughout their university journey and its commitment to creating a motivating and safe university environment. He mentioned the role of the Dean of Student Affairs in listening to students' suggestions and complaints and that its door is always open to them. He confirmed that the university administration follows an open-door policy and that the offices of all deans and department heads are open to them to address all the academic issues they face. He added that it is important for students to familiarize themselves with the regulations to understand their rights and responsibilities.
During the meeting, the students' inquiries and suggestions were heard, and Professor Dr. Ismail Yameen, Dean of Scientific Research, answered master students' questions about scientific researches, publishing mechanisms, baseline requirements, and activating scientific journals on university websites. In this context, Dr. Al-Widian assured postgraduate students of the university's keen interest in supporting scientific publishing by providing free publishing services in Scopus indexed journals and offering financial rewards to students who succeed in publishing their research, aiming to enhance their research awareness and support their academic journey.
At the end of the meeting, the president of the university reiterated the commitment of Amman Arab University to provide everything that supports students and empowers them in their academic journey, indicating that the university administration is always ready to listen to their observations and suggestions. Dr. Bin Tarif emphasized the importance of students' participation in university activities as an essential part of their academic life, referring to the deanery's doors being open to receive any talent or idea or suggestion, as the deanery works on adopting these ideas, studying them, and transforming them into achievements registered in the student's name.
