Father of Ramtha Wanted Tied to Terror Cell in Irbid

Khaberni - A member of the House of Lords and expert in security affairs, Dr. Ammar Al-Qudah, confirmed that the operation carried out by a special force in Ramtha District, which resulted in the killing of two brothers involved in Takfiri-related issues, reflects the high readiness level of the security forces and their ability to manage precise operations proactively to thwart danger before it occurs.

Al-Qudah clarified in media statements that the timing of these operations is not chosen arbitrarily by the specialized agencies, but is based on precise field assessments that see the necessity of taking the initiative in some cases to avoid any direct threat that might target citizens or security personnel.

Clear terrorist behavior and the start of the confrontation

Al-Qudah pointed out that the official statement confirmed that the wanted individuals began firing intensively as soon as the force arrived, which he described as the "distinguishing characteristic" in dealing with terrorist elements, as these groups always resort to violent confrontation instead of surrender, unlike criminal offenders who prefer to flee or surrender.

He explained that the Takfiri groups adopt an ideology based on the excommunication of the state and society and see the security forces as a direct enemy, which pushes them to secretive actions, storing weapons, ammunition, and explosives, which justifies what was seized at the site after the operation ended.

A family with a history linked to terrorism issues

Al-Qudah revealed a prolonged record within the family of the brothers, noting that their father was involved in the armed confrontation during the Irbid cell case in 2015, an incident in which Captain Rashed Al-Zyoud was martyred, and one of their relatives was linked to a previous case that targeted the building of the General Intelligence Department at the beginning of the millennium.

He emphasized that this is a "heritable ideological extension" within the family, based on misguided interpretations of religious texts, aligning with the jihadist Salafi Takfirism that legitimizes violence and considers it a means to impose its beliefs.

Al-Qudah highlighted that this thought is "extremely dangerous," pointing out that some elements do not hesitate to use their relatives as human shields or to disguise in women's clothing, with readiness to commit actions that cross humanitarian lines upon receiving orders.

He called on citizens to report any indicators or suspicious behaviors that might indicate people joining such organizations, stressing that community prevention is an important element in combating extremist thought.

Details of the security statement

The Directorate of Public Security announced early Wednesday that a special security force raided a site in Ramtha District on Tuesday evening that housed the wanted brothers, who initiated firing at the force, resulting in injuries to three of its members.

The Directorate confirmed that the engagement was conducted according to rules of engagement, resulting in the death of the wanted individuals who barricaded themselves inside the house and used their mother as a human shield, before the force managed to remove her without any harm.

It added that the search operation concluded with the confiscation of firearms and ammunition inside the site.
