Khaberni - The global music scene witnessed a new surprise this week, as the artistic legacy of the late singer Michael Jackson made a strong presence on the global Billboard charts, following a renewed interest in his works after the Halloween season.

Jackson, who passed away in 2009, achieved new success with the re-emergence of one of his most famous songs, as the song "Beat It" appeared for the first time on the global Billboard charts since their launch in 2020.

The song ranked 171 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S chart, and 188 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, which ranks the most listened to and sold songs around the world based on sales and streaming data.

Although Jackson's musical legacy holds a steady place on international charts throughout the year, the month of October provides a strong boost due to seasonal interest in his famous song "Thriller" and the album bearing the same name, dominating the scene with Halloween before its ranks subsequently decline as happens annually. However, the year 2025 brought an unusual surprise, as the echoes of Halloween did not fade quickly but reignited global interest in Michael Jackson's greatest works.

Concurrently with "Beat It" entering the charts, the song "Billie Jean" continues its historic climb, recording its best global ranking since its release. It ascended to position 44 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S chart, and to position 49 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, nearing entry into the top 40 global songs.

"Billie Jean" maintains its strong presence after more than two years of continuous presence on the Global Excl. U.S chart, reaching 118 weeks on Global 200, a rare achievement for a song released over four decades ago, indicating that it has become more widespread than ever according to Billboard data.

The power of "Billie Jean" extends beyond the international scope to also maintain its presence on several American charts, including digital streaming and digital song sales lists for R&B and Hip-Hop genres, despite its slight decline this week from some of its highest historical ranks.

All these successes trace back to the Thriller era that produced Michael Jackson's greatest songs, as these works continue to inject new momentum into the album itself, which persists in appearing on Billboard charts as one of the top 40 albums in all the categories it appears in, despite its gradual decline after the peak of Halloween.
