Khaberni - Hebrew media reported that the Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering a broad cabinet reshuffle, which includes replacing the current Defense Minister Israel Katz with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.

This radical move comes amid escalating public disputes that have peaked between Netanyahu and Katz, and particularly between the latter and the Chief of Staff.

The dispute over military authority and the failure to de-escalate

The clashes between Netanyahu and Katz reached their height yesterday after a public confrontation between Defense Minister Katz and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir over senior appointments and the failures report of October 7.

According to "Israel Hayom" newspaper, Netanyahu summoned both Zamir and Katz to a meeting to try to ease the tension, but the session ended divided into two separate meetings, confirming the immediate failure of containment.

Map of the proposed changes and coalition balance

The proposed cabinet reshuffle plan includes substantial changes in the defense and foreign portfolios: Gideon Sa'ar (the current Foreign Minister) moves to the Defense portfolio, Energy Minister Eli Cohen moves to the Foreign portfolio, and the current Defense Minister Israel Katz returns to the Energy portfolio.

It is noted that this arrangement returns Katz and Cohen to their original positions, which were agreed upon at the formation of the current coalition.

However, recent developments, especially the dismissal of the former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, have changed the scene and led Sa'ar to take over the Foreign Ministry.

Independent action hastens the decision

Netanyahu has not yet made a final decision, but sources close to him indicate that he might accelerate the decision to replace Katz if the latter continues to act independently of the Prime Minister.

The potential reshuffle scenario shows Netanyahu's determination to reassert full control over the security and political agenda.
