AlOdatt meets Womens Union of the Capital Governorate

Khaberni - Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Monem Al-Odatt, affirmed that the Jordanian state, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, views women as an essential partner in building the modern state, stressing that enhancing their participation is a central pillar in the comprehensive modernization project with its political, economic, and administrative pathways, and a fundamental element in consolidating Jordanian national identity.

Al-Odatt said, during his meeting with the President of the Women's Union for the Capital Governorate, Kulthum Mareesh, and the Union members: "The extensive presence of women in various sectors is the fruit of a long journey of work and achievement, and a translation of the state's trust in their ability to actively contribute to shaping public policies and decision-making."

He added that the legislation regulating political life has enhanced women's presence in party and parliamentary work and provided empowering tools that guarantee their effective participation within a national vision that believes the state's success in the modernization path depends on a balanced participation reflecting all components of the society.

Al-Odatt noted that the ministry is working on deepening communication with political parties and civil society institutions, especially women's institutions, opening up genuine pathways for women to engage in public work and enhance party culture, leading to a mature political environment that reflects the aspirations of Jordanian men and women.

For her part, the President of the Women's Union for the Capital Governorate, Kulthum Mareesh, affirmed that the Union strives to reach all parties in the governorate, to generalize the culture of political participation, in coordination with the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, considering that enhancing the party idea is necessary for entering public life within the three modernization pathways set by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.

The branch members also confirmed during the meeting the Union's readiness in the Capital Governorate to provide training and dialogical awareness sessions for local community members, especially in the outskirts of the capital, focusing on the effective role of associations and local community institutions in enhancing development within local communities, with an emphasis on women and youth, and the importance of building trust bridges between parties and the community.

The attending ladies appreciated the government efforts aimed at enhancing the role of women and empowering them, applauding the national directions that place women's participation at the heart of the modernization process. They expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs in supporting and readiness to assist the Union's associations through the empowerment programs implemented by the ministry.
