Jordan Thunderstorm clouds affect Tafilah Petra and parts of Irbid and Ajloun

Khaberni - The latest satellite images show the formation of cumulus clouds in parts of Tafilah and Petra District, as well as southeast Aqaba Governorate, working to precipitate showers accompanied by lightning and thunder. The same images also show the beginning of the influx of quantities of rainy thunderclouds towards parts of Irbid and Ajloun governorates, according to Arab Weather site.

It is noted that the Kingdom has started to be gradually affected by an unstable weather condition in the past hour, with increasing chances of thunderstorm showers in the coming hours in various parts of the Kingdom, which may sometimes be heavy within narrow geographic areas, accompanied by temporary hail showers, and it is expected that these conditions will lead to a clear increase in the chances of flash floods and the flow of valleys and possibly sudden floods, especially in low areas such as the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area, in addition to the possibility of clouds touching the ground surface over mountainous heights.

Forecasts indicate that the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea areas will witness heavy and thunderous rains during the morning and afternoon hours, occasionally accompanied by hail showers, greatly increasing the likelihood of floods and valley flows, including the risk of transferred floods coming from adjacent areas.
