Khaberni - The U17 National Team stumbled against its Australian counterpart 0-1, in the match held on Monday evening, November 24, at Aqaba Stadium, within the Asian qualifiers for the youth.
The team was represented in the match by: Azd Yaish, Ahmed Badran, Faisal Abu Deheim, Mohammad Khalil, Bishr Marqa, Nour Aldeen Amro, Ahmed Al-Kharabsheh (Mohammad Al-Omari), Yazan Qaddada (Mamdouh Abu Saad), Osama Al-Jawhari, Suleiman Aleyan (Adnan Al-Bakkar), Laith Al-Rabie (Ahmed Al-Khatib).
The match events were balanced for most of its periods, and the National Team had the most dangerous chances through Al-Jawhari and Aleyan on several occasions, but the brilliance of the goalkeeper prevented scoring the leading goal.
In the second half, the Australian team managed to score the only goal of the match at min.54 after a quick start, ending the game with the National team losing by a goal to none.
The National team will face its Iraqi counterpart at 4 pm on Wednesday, November 26, before concluding its campaign in the qualifiers with a match against the Philippines on Sunday, November 30, at Aqaba Stadium.
38 teams participate in the qualifiers, distributed into 7 groups held in a round-robin format, where 4 groups included 5 teams, and 3 groups included 6 teams.
The top team from each group will qualify for the Asian U17 finals held from May 7 to 24, 2026, in Saudi Arabia, joining nine teams that have already secured their automatic qualification through their qualification to the U17 World Cup 2025.
It is worth noting that the U17 National Team is placed in Group Five in the Asian U17 Cup qualifiers, alongside Australia, Iraq, the Philippines, and Bhutan, where the qualifiers take place from November 22 to 30.
The Jordanian Federation, through providing training camps and friendly matches for the U17 National Team, aims to achieve the highest levels of preparation and support, to move forward in upcoming challenges, with the forefront being the Asian U17 Cup qualifiers.
