Khaberni - The Food and Drug Administration, in cooperation with the Royal Environmental Protection Administration affiliated with Public Security and Jerash Police, seized 13 cans of counterfeit oil in Jerash Governorate, as confirmed by Jerash Governor Malik Khrisat, on Monday.
Khrisat stated that the regulatory bodies are constantly monitoring and tracking the oil displayed for sale, intensifying their surveillance before it circulates in the market, indicating that the Minister of Interior directed the administrative governor to ensure continuous monitoring and tracking to guarantee that the oil in the markets is fit and not counterfeit.
Khrisat added that the regulatory bodies, including the Food and Drug Administration, followed up and detected the presence of counterfeit oil, and moved to the site to seize 13 cans.
Khrisat mentioned that the oil seized in Jerash is done so before it circulates in the market, as a result of diligent follow-up, ensuring that all oil quantities are subject to the Food and Drug Administration's conditions.
Khrisat pointed out that the awareness of citizens plays an essential role in controlling counterfeit oil and preventing its circulation, urging them to report any observations to the regulatory bodies within the province.
It is noted that recently, the security forces have seized approximately 250 cans of counterfeit oil in Jerash.
