Khaberni - Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, announced the club's intention to move forward with a comprehensive proposal to reform the club’s statutes, confirming that the main goal is to "fortify the club against external and internal attacks against our heritage" and "demonstrate its value,” at the conclusion of the Ordinary General Assembly of Delegated Partners 2025, today Sunday.
Perez confirmed that the proposal will first be discussed in a special general assembly soon, followed by a general referendum in which all members will participate to vote on it.
He emphasized that these steps come in the context of "enemies wanting to seize our heritage," strongly denying rumors that circulated about his intention to sell the "royal" club or transform it into an institution, describing them as "just an attempt to destabilize the club in a childish way."
Perez explained that the reform aims to enhance the members' ownership, proposing to recognize the current 100,000 members as the "real economic owners of the club," and to define the number of future members to "prevent erosion of our status as owners."
He noted that the membership will carry "material and real value" for the first time, and heirs will not lose their economic rights.
In a strategic move, Perez announced plans to create a subsidiary for the club where the 100,000 partners "always retain absolute control."
This company will be allowed to merge a minority share not exceeding 10% (which may start at 5%) from one or several investors committed for the long term.
Perez affirmed that this investor will be "a strategic ally and will never be an owner,” emphasizing that the goal is to demonstrate the value of the club and maintain its independence.
