Arrival of the Second Saudi Oil Grant to Syria

Khaberni - The Syrian Minister of Energy, Mohammed al-Bashir announced the arrival of the second and last installment of the Saudi oil grant, loaded with one million barrels of oil, bringing the total shipment to one million six hundred fifty thousand barrels.

The first shipment of the grant arrived on November 17, with a tanker loaded with Saudi crude oil docking at the Baniyas port in the Tartus Governorate, northwest Syria, carrying about 650,000 barrels.

Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Fund for Development, and the Syrian Arab Republic, represented by the Syrian Ministry of Energy, signed an agreement on September 11, for providing the grant which is implemented and monitored under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom; to contribute to enhancing the operation of Syrian refineries, achieving operational and financial sustainability, supporting economic development, confronting economic challenges in Syria, enabling vital sectors in the country to grow, and supporting national and international efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
