Khaberni - The strict vegan diet is a diet that completely refrains from consuming animal products (meat, fish, poultry, honey). This diet consists exclusively of plant-based foods.

However, some experts say that a strict vegan diet reduces life expectancy by an average of two to three years. The Russian newspaper "Vechernyaya Moskva" conducted a study on the effect of excluding animal products from the diet on health.

How does it affect life?

According to nutritionist and physician Daria Rosakova, the impact of a vegan diet on life quality and life expectancy depends on factors such as:

The individual characteristics of each person

Lifestyle

Genetics

A balanced diet

A vegan diet can be easily adjusted using functional foods and dietary supplements. This ensures your body gets all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. Regular monitoring of your body to detect any deficiencies and, if necessary, taking appropriate dietary supplements or including foods fortified with vitamin "B12," as Rosakova said.

Risks of lacking animal products

The nutritionist pointed out that a deficiency in vitamin "B12," found in animal products, affects blood quality and the nervous system, causing anemia.

A "B12" deficiency also causes a permanent decrease in blood hemoglobin levels, depriving body organs of oxygen.

It also causes dysfunction in the nervous system; vitamin "B12" is responsible for the coating of nerve fibers, as Rosakova explained.

Daria Rosakova also notes that animal products also enrich the body with healthy fats and other enzymes that reduce the risk of depression and apathy.

By abandoning animal products, the body does not get a complete supply of essential omega-3 fatty acids, iron, and zinc, which are essential for human mental health.

Vitamin D deficiency also affects mood, but there is no direct relationship between a vegan diet and an increased likelihood of depression and anxiety.
