Khaberni - Young Bee Chung faces a series of fraud charges at prestigious restaurants in New York, following the uncovering of a series of incidents targeting luxury establishments. Investigations reveal that she frequents Michelin-starred restaurants, orders dishes worth hundreds of dollars, and claims there was a prior agreement for collaboration, although no written contract exists. On one occasion, she ordered a meal worth $188 comprising foie gras, carpaccio, lamb, and pasta, then refused to pay. Sources disclosed that the fraud claims were repeated with slight evasion of payment as she disappeared for 45 minutes during the moment of payment, only to be later found by staff hiding in the washroom.
Arrests and restaurant responses showed that Chung was arrested five times in less than a month due to repeating the same behavior in multiple restaurants. Nonetheless, she continued posting pictures of luxurious meals and items from global brands like Prada, Herm s, and Louis Vuitton to maintain an image of a lavish life across her accounts. Restaurant owners such as Francie and Peter Luger confirmed that her dealings appeared as if she was only participating in promotions and did not have a real collaborative relationship. They explained that her bank cards were rejected, resulting in her being banned from entry due to unpaid bills. The authorities face charges of stealing services, as investigations continue to determine the full extent of the fraud.
