Khaberni - Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan has made a remarkable achievement by its College of Science and Information Technology team obtaining first place in the Live Hack cybersecurity competition, held under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, part of the events at the C8 World Summit and Conference in the Dead Sea area. This excellence was reflected at the level of Jordanian universities and the entire competition scope, following an outstanding performance that demonstrated the team's readiness and ability to handle the most complex technical challenges.
The participating students displayed exceptional skills, succeeding in solving the First Blood challenge, and surpassing the "Spooler Secrets" challenge efficiently tackled by the students Fares Raed Jaabo and Qais Hossam Al-Sayeh. As for the most difficult challenge, "Eye in the Sky," which all the participating teams from the university category and cybersecurity experts failed to solve, student Qais Omran Ahmad managed to accomplish it solo, achieving a unique success that received wide acclaim from the judging panels and participants.
Simultaneously, the Supernova team from the university continued to excel in the experts' category, securing fourth place in a tough competition that included an elite group of professional teams in the field of cybersecurity. The team consisted of students Mohammad Al-Mansi and Ahmad Abu Zaid, who demonstrated a notable ability to handle advanced challenges.
These results came as part of broad participation from institutions and universities under the supervision of specialized entities including the National Center for Cybersecurity, (SOFEX), and (JODDB), reflecting the competition's status and the significance of participating in it at both academic and professional levels. Dr. Layla Al-Badour made significant efforts that contributed to these achievements, alongside continuous support from the head of the cybersecurity department, Dr. Ahmad Al-Khatib.
Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan affirms that this achievement is added to a series of ongoing successes in the field of cybersecurity, embodying the university's confidence in the capabilities and distinction of its students at both local and global levels.
