Khaberni - Israeli Energy Minister, Eli Cohen, conducted an interview with Channel 14, during which he claimed that Palestinians do not need to establish a state, due to the presence of a Palestinian majority in Jordan.
After the interview was published, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a counterattack, describing the government as "internationally shunned".
At the beginning of his statements, the minister referred to the widespread global call for the establishment of a Palestinian state, saying, "A Palestinian state will not be established; we do not intend to create another Hamasstan."
Cohen stated: "There is a state with a Palestinian majority - that state is Jordan. We will not jeopardize the state of Israel, and we certainly will not reward terrorism."
Upon hearing his words, Jordanians flew into a rage, sending an angry response: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently condemned the provocative statements made by the extremist Israeli Energy Minister, Eli Cohen, regarding his rejection of establishing a Palestinian state, and his vain attempt to promote the illusions of deportation to Jordan, violating the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and to establish their independent state on their national territory."
The Jordanian Foreign Ministry added that the aggressive practices and statements issued by the ministers of the extremist Israeli government reflect its problematic reality and confirm its desire to create and fuel crises, amidst its impunity which has been cemented by its systematic violations of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and the sovereignty of states.
They added: "Israeli Energy Minister and top officials of the extremist Israeli government who deny the humanity of the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to freedom and an independent sovereign state. The Israeli extremists' absurd illusions will not harm Jordan, nor will it diminish the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people."
